Ikon (LSH) are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join their London-based team and undertake a degree apprenticeship. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain skills in project delivery, project management, employers’ agent and associated skills.

 

This role is suited to a candidate who wants to qualify for the Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship. It should be noted this is a commitment of up to 5 years of training and learning and requires a candidate with enthusiasm and diligence to meet these requirements.

 

Vacancy Description:

 

As an Apprentice Project Manager, you will be providing essential administrative and technical support to the IKON team whilst gaining valuable on-the-job experience. Whilst undertaking your apprenticeship, you will have an allocated day each week to spend on your coursework. We will actively support your career progression throughout the five-year apprenticeship course.

 

The work will be varied and carried out in the office, as well as involving visits to client and consultant offices, and sites of proposed development.

 

As an Apprentice Project Manager, you will support the Ikon team in the following tasks:

 

  • Supporting Ikon team on consultancy projects (i.e. affordable housing projects, regeneration consultancy, development solutions)
  • Monitoring and tracking progress of assigned projects
  • Identifying and managing risks, opportunities, issues and dependencies
  • Reporting and managing performance and project status
  • Producing and maintaining project documentation
  • Arranging and organising project meetings, including agendas, attendees, taking and producing minutes and action logs
  • Identify areas for improvement, compliance risks and areas of good practice within the wider team
  • Engage with LSH’s internal systems to building a level of expertise in their use and identify ways in which you can work more efficiently with colleagues
  • Support the team in the creation of Fee Proposals and bids
  • Assist Project Managers in Contract Administration tasks
  • Attend Design, Site and Project Meetings with senior team members
  • General office admin duties
  • Attending training and continuous professional development (CPD) events where required to support your learning.

 

On-the-Job Training Provided:

 

Training and coaching will be provided via the following methods:

  • Attending relevant training courses (internal and external)
  • Attending industry CPD events
  • Shadowing qualified colleagues
  • 1-1 coaching
  • e-learning for H&S and compliance requirements
  • Practical on the job experience on a daily basis

Off-the-Job Training and Assessment:

 

Off-the-job training will be provided by the University of the Built Environment (UBE). Through this pathway, you will achieve a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management. Rather than attending formal lectures or classes, you’ll study using UBE’s state-of-the-art online learning environment and digital library, supported with guidance from highly experienced tutors.

 

You will be invited to the Level 6 Surveying Apprenticeship which will require you to complete the BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management course and the structured workplace learning to undertake the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence at the end of the apprenticeship. This will lead to registration with the RICS as a Chartered Project Manager.

 

Candidate Requirements 

 

There is a minimum requirement of 96 UCAS points to be eligible for the Level 6 Surveying Apprenticeship
