Graduate Scheme & Apprenticeships

Graduate Scheme

The purpose of our scheme is simple – to train and develop our graduates to become brilliant Chartered Surveyors.

Training typically lasts 2 years* and ends with the APC (Assessment of Professional Competence) to become Chartered either with the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or the RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute) for Planners.

Our Graduate Scheme is open to those who have completed (or who are completing at the time of applying) a degree which is RICS/RTPI accredited, but we also welcome applications from any degree discipline, who are seeking to become chartered.

Those without a RICS/RTPI accredited degree will be required to undertake an accredited part-time Masters Degree alongside their job, usually as an MSc apprenticeship, where they will be afforded 1 study day per week.

*For those who already have a RICS accredited degree. For those without its typically 2.5 years before they can sit their APC.

Graduate Pathways

We typically offer the following pathways for Graduates

•Commercial Real Estate (RICS)

•Building Surveying (RICS)

•Construction Project Management (RICS)

•Planning (RTPI)

Apprenticeships

At LSH we have a number of colleagues across the business who undertaking an apprenticeship and working towards a recognised qualification, alongside their daily work.

Surveying Degree Apprenticeships

In addition to our graduate scheme, we now offer surveying degree apprenticeships. This involves studying for a RICS accredited degree on a part-time basis alongside the ‘day job’ and training to become a chartered surveyor. These have proved a very popular alternative to going to university in recent years, as the cost of the apprenticeship training (a degree in this case) is paid for by the employer.

A surveying degree apprenticeship typically takes 5 years to complete from starting the degree to passing the APC and becoming Chartered.

To be eligible for Surveying Degree Apprenticeship applicants must have a minimum of 96 UCAS points (equiv. of 3 x C grades at A-Level).

How and when can I apply?

Unlike our Graduate Scheme we don’t yet have a single annual intake for apprentices. Instead we recruit on an ad-hoc basis when a vacancy arises. Please keep checking our live jobs page for any Apprentice Surveyor roles, or sign up for job alerts.

Other Apprenticeships

In addition to the degree apprenticeships we also have colleagues undertaking various apprenticeship programmes in the following functions:

•Technology

•HR

•Marketing
