Job description

About us:

The planning consultancy team based out of the Lambert Smith Hampton’s Central Birmingham office plays a key part in providing consultancy services to developers, investors, landowners, house builders and the public sector. With a team in each of the major English cities and regions, we can draw on a deep knowledge pool across the service line along with the wider urban design, development consultancy and regeneration teams whilst also working alongside agency and consultancy colleagues across the wider business.

We have a varied portfolio of clients and the vast majority of our work is repeat business or on recommendation, endorsing the quality of our work.  Our wide range of clients includes landowners and developers of all sizes, house builders, Government departments and local authorities with a focus on health and defence, retailers and developers. Our work includes delivering large scale city and town centre regeneration and development projects as well as greenfield/brownfield housing developments, commercial development, site promotion and heritage and conservation matters.

Whilst most of our work is across the wider Midlands, we work with clients across the UK on a day to day basis on a variety of schemes of all shapes and sizes.

The work carried out by the team is diverse and rewarding, having direct impact on our client’s businesses, and providing true value. The services we provide cover:

  • Dealing with planning policy and site appraisals
  • Local plan promotion and monitoring
  • Stakeholder engagement and public consultation support
  • Economic and employment impact assessments
  • Preparing and managing planning applications
  • Section 106 and Community Infrastructure Levy negotiations
  • Expert witness / planning appeals

We are looking for someone to join the team at Planner, Senior Planner or Associate Director level who will have the opportunity to work alongside the rest of the team on large scale projects, as well as being able to grow their own client and project base.

We understand the value that a diverse and inclusive working environment brings to Lambert Smith Hampton. We celebrate the different perspectives and insights that people can bring through their cultures and backgrounds. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or any other protected characteristic.

We believe that this will ensure that talented people interested in developing their career with us will be considered for the widest range of opportunities that we can provide and will also receive the best candidate experience.
