Our Project & Building Consultancy teams advise our clients on the full spectrum of Building Consultancy, Cost Management and Project Management services.

 

The Building Consultancy element of this team undertakes a range of professional instructions including dilapidations, technical due diligence, project monitoring, acquisition surveys, schedules of condition, PPM’s, feasibility studies, party walls, reinstatement cost assessments, defect advice, together with contract administration, employer’s agent and project management services.  The clients include owners and occupiers and encompass a range of property types with live instructions within the retail, office, leisure, residential industrial and logistics sectors.

 

Our nationwide Project and Cost Management teams are currently delivering a variety of project management, contract administration and cost management instructions across numerous sectors on complex £multi-million new build, reconfiguration, asset enhancement and refurbishment schemes.  We collaborate across the Building Consultancy, Cost Management, Project Management and all other LSH teams to support our clients across the full spectrum of LSH services on offer.

 

Role Overview

 

This position will jointly lead and take overall responsibility for the London Building Consultancy function, overseeing both its people and financial performance. Reporting to the Head of London Project & Building Consultancy, the role will focus on strengthening our capability across London and the South East while collaborating with regional teams to deliver a consistent, high-quality service to clients nationwide.

 

The successful candidate will play a key role in team leadership, developing new business, providing technical leadership, and mentoring the next generation of professionals within the team.

 
 

Key Responsibilities

 

Leadership & Strategy

  • Work with the Head of London Project and Building Consultancy to define and deliver the business plan for the London Building Consultancy team in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
  • Act as a visible leader for the team internally and externally, promoting the group’s expertise and representing the business at industry events.
  • Drive innovation and best practice across the London Building Consultancy team.

 

Financial Management

  • Take ownership of the London Building Consultancy team financial outcomes, including revenue generation, profitability, budgeting, and cash flow management.
  • Ensure performance targets are met through effective workload planning and commercial awareness.

 

Growth & Business Development

  • Shape and implement a growth strategy for the London and South East Building Consultancy team, aligning with the wider UK business objectives.
  • Develop strong client relationships and identify opportunities to broaden our service offering
  • Work closely with other service lines to encourage cross-sector collaboration and client development.
  • Lead on key pursuits and strategic bids, working with marketing and bid team colleagues to enhance market visibility.

 

Service Delivery

  • Oversee the provision of all Building Consultancy services, maintaining a focus on technical quality, client satisfaction, and efficiency.
  • Promote adoption of new technologies and digital tools to enhance client service and operational performance.

 

People & Culture

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture where collaboration and professional growth are encouraged.
  • Support recruitment, resourcing, and talent development to ensure the team has the right capability and capacity to meet business needs.
  • Mentor junior team members and act as a technical reference point for complex projects.

 

Skills, Experience & Attributes

  • Proven experience leading and expanding a Building Consultancy team within a multidisciplinary or property advisory environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of team development and stakeholder engagement
  • Commercially astute with a good grasp of financial metrics and business planning.
  • Established network and profile in the London Building Consultancy market.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance growth ambitions with operational delivery.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, confident when representing the business to clients and at industry events.
