Job description
Job Title: Audit and Compliance Officer
Location: Nationwide - hybrid
Reporting to: Director of SHEQ
Key focus of job:
The Audit and Compliance Office will be responsible for supporting the Organisation’s internal audit, compliance monitoring and risk management activities within LSH. You will work within a team of Internal Auditors, conducting smaller audits independently and contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and controls.
Main Tasks:
- Assist in planning internal audits and developing audit scopes.
- Conduct audits or sections of audits independently, with support for more complex areas.
- Perform evidence testing, data analysis and process reviews to evaluate controls.
- Identifying non-conformities, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Draft audit reports with clear finding and recommendations.
- Contribute to the improvement of the Integrated Management System (Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental).
- Provide support within the Compliance and Audit Team, as required.
- Help maintain compliance registers, logs and audit documents.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Experience of assisting with internal audits and compliance activities.
- Ability to plan tasks and execute autonomously.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Good report-writing ability and clear communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise own workload.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Packages, specifically Work and Excel.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Understanding on ISO 9001, 14001 and/or 45001.
- Relevant Quality or Health and Safety qualification (e.g. ISO 9001 Awareness / Internal Auditor Course, IOSH Managing Safely etc.).
- Willingness to work towards relevant training / qualifications with the scope to progress into Internal Auditor Role.
